The game of the American Roulette is a game played on a wheel. The wheel consists of 38 slots, each slot has its own number. The numbers on the wheel are 1-36, 0, and 00. The wheel numbers alternate between odd number pairs with even ones. The colors alternate through black and red, but the 0 and the 00 are both green. The dealer or the croupier only spins the wheel in one direction, he or she then will role a ball the other direction. As the ball drops into one of the slots the wheel then will start to slow down.
Bets
There are several different kind of Inside bets.
Straight bet- Is a bet that one particular number will come up on the wheel. The bets done by putting a chip on the number you choose. If the number you chose wins its 35 to 1.
Split bets- Is betting that one of two numbers that are next to each other on the table will win. One will then place a chip on the line in between the numbers. You will then win if it lands in either number. The pay off is 17 to 1.
Three number bet- One will wager that any number in a particular row will be hit on the next wheel spin. To start this bet one must place the chip on the outside line of the row. One will win if any number in the row comes up, the pay off will be 11 to 1.
4 number bet- This bet says you think one of the next four numbers will be hit on the spin. The numbers all have to be touching, move a chip into the center of the four numbers you want to bet on.If any of these four numbers come up you win 8 to 1.
5 number bet- This bet says that the spin will either land on 00, 0, 1, 2 or, 3. Place a chip on the outside line that divided 0 and 1. You will win 6 to 1.
6 line bet- This is a bet that one of 6 numbers in two adjacent rows. You will put a chip in between the two rows on the outside line. If you win you the pay outs 6 to 1.
There are also outside bets.
Red- You will be betting that the next number to come up will be red. Place a chip on the box labeled red. If in fact the next number does land on red you will be paid 1 to 1.
Black- You will be betting that the next number to come up will be black. Place a chip on the box labeled black. If in fact the next number does land on black you will be paid 1 to 1.
Even- This bets the ball will land only on an even number. The bet excludes 0 and 00. The pay off is 1 to 1. Place the chip on the box labeled even.
Odd- This bets the ball will land on an odd number. The payoff is 1 to 1. Place the chip on the box labeled odd.
Low bet- This bet says you think the ball will land on a number 1 to 18. The payout is 1 to 1. Place the chip on the low box.
High bet- This bet says you think the ball will land on a number 19 to 36. The payout is 1 to 1. Place the chip on the high box.
Dozen bet- This bet divides the table from 1 to 12, 13-24, and 25-36. To place this bet put your chip in the box labeled 1st 12, 2nd 12, or 3rd 12. The payoff is 2 to 1.
Column bet- This says that a number in a particular row will come up next. The pay off is 2 to 1. You put a chip at the end of the row you choose.
