The True Sheriff Slot Game by Betsoft

This game needs more payout action. There is no music in this game. Instead, the sounds of the Wild West with howling dogs, coyotes, horses and chickens are heard in the background. I also heard the sounds of someone riding a horse as the reels spin. The setting is in a western town in the 1800s. There are 30 pay lines to bet on. The reel has three decks stacked with five icons across them. The introduction screen says there is a big pay out of up to 750,000 credits. There are four characters in the game including the sheriff, the bad guy, a gambler, and a saloon woman. They all have animation with a decent 3D visual effect to each of them.

The sheriff icon pays the most with five you win 1,200 credits. The bad guy icon earns you 900 credits. The remaining game icons pay from 360 credits for the gambler to 90 credits for the number ten icon. The non-character icons consist of the letters A, K, Q, J, and the number 10. The gun and wild icons are scatters that trigger separate bonus action. The gun icon causes the sheriff to go into animation that shoots at the reel. Every icon he hits becomes a wild and free spins are won.

The wild icon is called a bullet wild and three will get free spins with five time multipliers. A bonus round is triggered once the sheriff icon, the gun, and the bad guys icon falls on reels one, two, and three. I got the bonus round after about an hour of play. The game screen changes to the streets of the town. The bad guy can be heard in the background saying “I am calling you out sheriff.” The sheriff walks in to the middle of the street. You have to pick heads or tails during a coin toss to help the sheriff shoot the bad guy. I got both coin tosses right, but, the bad guy still shot the sheriff. I did not win any credits for the only bonus round I earned.

This game has a free spin feature once three or more sheriff’s badge icons land on any winning pay line. The sheriff’s badge icon is also the scatter for the game that comes with up to 5,000 credits when five land on any reel. The double-up feature is a solid bonus feature that you can play at any time. The game takes you inside the saloon with the gambler sitting at a table. You have to pick either red or black. The gambler throws a card on the table. If it is the color you pick, you win. I played this a ton of times throughout the game. I won up to 150 credits during one round. When you win, the gambler says “yes”. But, if you lose, he throws his hat on the floor.

I like the setting of the game along with the theme, but there is not much action with winnings and payouts. The 3D effects and animation almost appear to be a cartoon. However, the winnings and payouts need to step-up more to make the game exciting.
